What is a sleep sack for babies?
Most sleep sacks are, quite simply, wearable blankets. These zip-up blankets keep babies cozy during sleep without having a dangerous loose blanket in the bassinet (a huge safety no-no). In most cases, babies graduate to a sleep sack after they’ve outgrown swaddling. But SNOO Sacks are different! Babies can wear SNOO Sacks from birth to 6 months—or for as long as your little one sleeps in SNOO. SNOO Sacks feature wings that are specially designed to attach to SNOO’s safety clips, keeping babies safely on their backs in SNOO, virtually eliminating the chance of risky rolling.
What are baby sleep sacks for?
Baby sleep sacks and baby swaddles are the only safe way to keep your baby cozy during sleep. The alternative—a loose blanket—can easily cover your baby’s face, causing breathing problems…or worse! That’s why the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that you keep your baby’s crib or bassinet free of loose bedding, including blankets. Their suggestion: If you’re worried your bub will be cold, use a sleep sack…but never a weighted blanket or weighted swaddle! As a bonus: Some sleep sacks, like SNOO Sleep Sack, mimic the snug embrace of the womb, which helps to calm babies and bring on the Zzzs.
How does SNOO’s baby sleep sack work?
Simply place your baby inside their SNOO Sack, with their shoulders about two inches above the neckline. Next, straighten Baby’s right arm and pull the band across their arm and chest. Now straighten their left arm and snugly pull the other band across your little one’s chest and secure it with Velcro. Bring the leg flap up between Baby’s legs, attach it to the arm band, and zip the sack all the way up! (The neckline should be well below your child’s chin.) Place your baby in SNOO, making sure their feet are at the end nearest to the power button. You’ll notice that your SNOO Sack features wings with a loop on each side. Slide these loops onto SNOO’s clips to ensure your baby will remain safely on their back. You will not be able to use SNOO’s soothing sound/motion unless the sleep sack is secured.

How do I transition from swaddle to a baby sleep sack?
When you are ready to transition your baby from “swaddle mode” to “sleep sack mode,” locate the shoulder snaps on your baby’s SNOO Sack. Undo the snaps on one side of the SNOO Sack, letting just one of your baby’s arms out. After a few nights of good sleep with one arm out, go ahead and set the other arm free. If your little one starts to startle themselves awake with one arm out, rewind to both arms swaddled and try the one-arm-out strategy again in a week. This is the approach parents should use when preparing to wean their baby from SNOO to the crib. It’s important to know that while some babies are ready for arms-out sleep around 3 to 4 months, that does not mean your little one is ready to be a SNOO graduate! It simply means they prefer to sleep with their arms free. It’s highly recommended that babies remain in SNOO until 6 months old.
Can Baby use SNOO baby sleep sacks in the crib?
SNOO Sacks are designed to be used in SNOO and only in SNOO…BUT you can get the very same award-winning swaddle—complete with our escape-proof inner bands and arms-out shoulder snaps—with our Sleepea Swaddle. The only difference between SNOO Sack and Sleepea is that Sleepea is wing-free, making it the ideal swaddle to use outside of SNOO.
